Anjelica Scannura is a highly accomplished dancer (Flamenco, Bellydance, Irish, Contemporary), choreographer, adjudicator, actress, and stand-up comedian from Toronto, Canada. She has performed and taught all over the world, including the USA, Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico and the Middle East, and has performed for Sting, Russel Crowe, Rush, Jean-Paul Gaultier and the Princess of Jaipur, to name a few.
Anjelica is the face of Zoomer Media’s health & fitness channel One GET FIT TV, which also airs her critically-acclaimed dance fitness show Anjelica’s Dance Workout. John Doyle of the Globe & Mail wrote “There oughta be a law about Anjelica Scannura. She can frighten the life out of the sedentary. Watch Anjelica Scannura and suddenly you’re up on your hind legs doing shocking things, without even a doctor’s note to say you’re of sound mind and body to be attempting such things.”
Anjelica has successfully produced critically-acclaimed full-length dance productions for Harbourfront’s NextSteps Dance Series, which is Canada’s most renowned dance festival, receiving a Dora Mavor Moore Nomination in 2015 and was also honored by being a Dora Juror in 2016/2017. A recipient of the Paula Citron Fresh Blood Award for outstanding emerging Canadian choreographer. Paula Citron commented: “Scannura is passionate and compelling. She rivets the eye with her consummate charisma, and as a result, seems to dance rings around her fellows.” She has received grants from the Chalmers Fund, the Toronto Arts Council, the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Council for her daring, innovative productions. She was recently awarded the Marty Award (Mississauga Arts Council) for Best Established Dance Artist of 2018. She has performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Cambridge Philharmonic, and Etobicoke Symphony Orchestra.

Anjelica won Bellydancer of the Universe in 2013, and was inducted into their Hall of Fame the following year. She was runner-up in the Eastern Canadian Irish Dance Championships, and the first North American to ever become a finalist in one of Spain’s most prestigious Flamenco competitions.
Anjelica is also an actress; some credits include Disney’s Camp Rock, Family Channel’s Overruled, CTV’s Satisfaction, DirecTV’s Rogue, USA Network’s
